Tricia Wang

Tricia Wang is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Advanced AI Society, the alliance making trust in AI possible. She has spent two decades advising Fortune 500 companies on data strategy, AI adoption, and the gap between what technology measures and what organizations actually need to know. She coined the term thick data and built the field around it, arguing that as more knowledge is abstracted into quantification, human insight becomes more important, not less. Her TED talk on the subject has been viewed nearly two million times. At the World Economic Forum, she co-founded CRADL with Sheila Warren, building frameworks for how enterprises and governments navigate emerging technology responsibly. At Advanced AI Society she applies the pattern that has defined her career: seeing what institutions cannot see yet, naming it, and building the infrastructure to make it actionable. The evidence gap in AI is the same problem she identified at Nokia a decade ago, that institutions cannot act on evidence that does not come in the format they expect, and her work on Proof of Control puts that evidence in a format they cannot ignore. Her contribution to the Council centers on the evidence side of trust: how verifiable proof, rather than assertion, becomes something enterprises, governments, and the public can act on.
