Every published version of the TIP Protocol Privacy Policy, as section 15 of the policy promises. Only the current version is in force. The others are kept for the record, word for word.
| Version | In force | What changed |
|---|---|---|
| Version 1.6Current | November 5, 2026to now | Email signing (section 3.6) now also seals the sender's address, and seals Bcc recipients privately with a secret that stays on your device, so nobody else can tell who was copied. |
| Version 1.5 | November 4, 2026to November 5, 2026 | Added Email Signing in Webmail (section 3.6) for the optional email signing in the TIP browser extension, corrected two statements that said the extension never reads page content (sections 3.2 and 13), and pointed section 15 to this archive. |
| Version 1.4 | September 27, 2026to November 4, 2026 | Corrected how face images are described: TIP does not store your face image. It is used once to confirm you match your ID, then deleted right after processing. |
| Version 1.3 | July 5, 2026to September 27, 2026 | Added de-identified and aggregated data (section 4.3) and business transfers (section 8.8).Changes made later without a new version number: on July 12, 2026 the transient retention of media for content classification (deleted within 21 days) and classifier improvement; on August 18, 2026 the accessibility preference cookie; on September 3, 2026 the DAG labeled as the TIP Network. This archive shows version 1.3 as it read when it was superseded. Its summary line still read as version 1.1, as published. |
| Version 1.2 | July 3, 2026to July 5, 2026 | Added participant coordination as a use of data, that Verification Providers answer for their own processing, that scores and labels are informational only, and privacy protections for AI Trust Council members, jurors, reviewers and node operators. The summary line at the top of this version still read as version 1.1, as published. |
| Version 1.1 | March 22, 2026to July 3, 2026 | Incorporated the TIPCL-1.0 license terms: attribution data disclosure, licensee scope restrictions, patent license disclosure, journalism and research use limitations, and the JAMS arbitration correction.Version 1.0 was not published on this site, so this archive starts at 1.1. |
