Dr. Nitish Sawan

Dr. Nitish Jivan Sawan is the Scientific Advisor at The AI Lab, where he provides clinical, scientific, and translational leadership at the intersection of medicine and advanced artificial intelligence. A UK-registered physician with over a decade of experience in General Internal Medicine, Dr. Sawan brings deep, hands-on expertise across respiratory medicine, cardiology, haematology, diabetes, neurology, renal medicine, gastroenterology, and acute care, with additional experience in intensive care settings. He has been practicing within the National Health Service (NHS) since 2021 and is currently a Specialty Trainee (ST4) in General Internal Medicine, where he manages complex, multi-morbidity and geriatric cases. Holding an MBBS, MD in General Medicine, a Postgraduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine, and MRCP (UK), Dr. Sawan combines rigorous clinical training with a strong interest in evidence-based practice, systems-level thinking, and innovation. At The AI Lab, he guides the scientific validity, clinical relevance, and ethical grounding of AI systems, ensuring that advanced agentic and data-driven technologies are aligned with real-world clinical workflows, patient safety, and responsible adoption in regulated healthcare environments.
